Mapping Tijuana River Valley Water Quality

USEPA updated the community on Tijuana River solutions to be funded by the USMCA

OpenOceans Global today announced the publication of a new web site, Proyecto 2030. The new web site has been designed to illuminate the information necessary to solve the nearly 100 year old problem of sewage crossing the border from Mexico into the U.S. via the Tijuana River Valley.

By publishing the problems, solutions, status of solutions, responsible organzations and other information about water quality issues int hte Tijuana River Valley, a community built around that information can gather and solve the problem.

OpenOceans Global named the project Proyecto 2030 in hopes that the majority of the water quality issues will have been addressed by then, including not only sewage, but sediment and trash that also enters the valley via the watershed.

"Our job is to empower others by revealing the invisible," said OpenOceans Global President Carl Nettleton. In the past, the solution has often been simply blaming Mexican and U.S. federal agencies for not fixing the problem. If we can identify and map the problems and the solutions, it will be come apparent what we have to do and how much it will cost."
